The Departments of Allergy/Immunology and Cardiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Solution (WRAMC) sought automated solutions to facilitate enhanced disease management and patient care. EIC and Member-Link Systems provided application development and network integration services in support of this requirement. EIC assessed existing business processes and developed functional and data requirements for automated medical record systems for Cardiology, Allergy-Immunology, and General Medicine. EIC built these applications using the Military Health Services System (MHSS) Functional Area Model-Data (FAM-D) as the logical database design. The applications were built using C++ and an SQL Server platform. EIC provided LAN integration services for both the Cardiology and Allergy Immunology clinics that included interfaces to the Third Party Billing office.

EIC provided the products necessary to implement an outpatient forms automation solution delivered at the point-of-care. The current environment features mobile pen-pad and touch screen workstations, centralized database and messaging servers, and a wireless RF network. Key products include MS Windows NT, MS SQL Server/Visual C++/Office/Exchange, Citrix Winframe, Dragon Dictate, Cruise Technologies pen pads, and Member-Link Systems Medicive software.
